Back on November 17th, we published a blog post by Network Marketing leader, trainer & million-dollar annual income earner Randy Gage titled Don’t You Dare Give Up!. (If you missed it, click the link to go right there.) Here we go again. We simply found “Getting Free” to be such great advice about Network Marketing and such a great look at the possibilities of this business for you, we were compelled to publish it here. Enjoy it.

Getting Free

One of the most important things we do in Network Marketing is helping people get free. They break away from the bonds of office politics, nepotism, rush hour traffic, and someone controlling a very large percentage of their waking hours.

We can offer them an environment based on empowering people. Becoming successful by helping offers reach success. Getting free by helping others get free. But this is also the area that hurts the most people in our business…

So I’m writing a lengthy post about the subject and I’m asking you to make sure everyone on your team reads this today.

The biggest mistake I see in the business is people leaving their jobs too soon. As soon as someone equals their job income, they want to leave it. But that’s a mistake. This forces them to live out of their MLM business, instead of using their income to grow their business. And when you have to sponsor someone just to meet bills, that creates stress and a very negative energy.

Better you keep your job and work even more evenings a week. Sacrifice for a season to grow the business and pay off your bills. The best scenario is for you to be debt free, extra money in the bank, and earning even more from your MLM business than your job. Only then is it time to quit the job.

So here’s my advice:

Write your resignation letter NOW.

Then put it in your wallet or purse. Read it every morning. Read it when you’re having a hard time at work. Read it when you get home from a meeting at 1 am and have to get up at 6 am for work the next day. Let it drive you. Then one day soon, you’ll be able to hand it in.

Dear (insert cheap boss name here),

As I’m sure you know, there have been turbulent changes in the economy and this has affected us all. In response to these factors, our family has been forced to make some restructuring changes and some positions have been eliminated. One of those positions is mine.

I can no longer afford to work here. And because of the difficult economic times, I am opening up the position for someone that doesn’t have a dream. It’s time for me to leave, so I can live mine.

Sincerely,
(Your name)

Please really do write your resignation letter today and let it pull you toward freedom. And encourage your people to do the same. But counsel with them and let’s not have anyone leave their job until the time is right for them. Then we really are helping people get free.

Tax Advantages— and the Lesson They Teach
People who are brand-new to Network Marketing are often quite surprised to learn about the significant tax advantages from having your own home-based business.

With recent changes in tax policies and more insurance programs tailored for small businesses and the self-employed, it’s easier than ever before to create your own benefits package that rivals and even surpasses anything the standard big corporations could offer.

By starting a Network Marketing business in your spare time and keeping your regular job, you begin to get the tax advantages of the rich.

A person with a part-time [home] business can take can take more tax deductions than employees do.

For most home-based business owners— even working part-time, they amount to a number of thousands of dollars (think $5000 or more). And that’s immediate money, not something you have to wait for.

When it comes to retirement, we here in the U.S. can celebrate the fact that we’re not France. We presumably don’t have as much reason to riot in the streets. Then again, given the results of some research just released, we have no reason to be dancing in the streets, either.

The U.S. has the 10th best retirement-income system in the world. That’s the good news. The bad news is that, one, there were only 14 countries studied in the second annual Melbourne Mercer Global Pension Index and, two, the U.S. had the sixth best retirement system in the world in last year’s study.

Fewer Americans are retiring with traditional pensions. Half of working Americans don’t have an employer-sponsored retirement plan. And the percentage of folks who are “very confident” about having the same standard of living in retirement as during their working years is roughly one in four.

Nearly half of older boomers— those now aged 56 to 62— and some 44% of younger boomers— aged 46 to 55 now— are at risk of not having sufficient income to pay for basic retirement expenses and uninsured medical expenses, according to the Retirement Readiness Rating report by the Employee Benefit Research Institute.

You could take your “retirement” into your own hands by owning your own, part-time Network Marketing business. The tax savings alone make it well-worth your time to investigate. What would an additional $500… $1000… or more mean to your retirement plans?

Network Marketing isn’t the only way. We just don’t know a better one.

What If…

corporate America was suddenly

What if… you were allowed to identify and mentor others to follow in your productive footsteps and be rewarded accordingly, on a permanent basis, for their success, without fear that they would replace you?

What if…you received a small monthly percentage of the earnings of all those you identify, nurture, train, and mentor to contribute to the company’s success?

Oh yes, and…

What if… there was no limit, now or in the future, on your upside success and income?

What if this utopian business model could actually be implemented?

It has been. It’s called network marketing.

Steve Wynn, a casino resort/real-estate developer who has been credited with spearheading the dramatic resurgence and expansion of the Las Vegas Strip, talks about the Fall of America. In this 04:43 minute video Mr. Wynn decries the disappearance of common sense in America; the mounting, unsustainable debt and “stimulus” spending of the government that’s compelling him to move much of his business to the more stable, certain economic environment of Asia. He sees his opportunities as far superior abroad and refers to the financial state of business in America as “cuckoo.”

If you’re open to learning about an alternative to your current “business environment”— one where you do have control over your financial future— please know MLM Network Marketing is not the ONLY answer. We don’t know of a better one.

Used to be when folks from the same profession got together in their off-hours and talked about the business of their respective businesses it was called “talking shop.” That’s what happened recently on a conference call hosted by Jordan Adler and his special guest Donna Johnson. Both are at the very top of their MLM Network Marketing companies: million-dollar + annual income earners having built Networking organizations numbering 10′s of thousands of team members each.

The greatest advantage of an MLM Network Marketing is that it gives me an opportunity to enjoy residual income— and there is no cap on how much money I can generate. It is up to me to decide how much I want to earn. There’s no employer to tell me how much they think I’m worth or how valuable they think I am. As long as I have the correct skills, I can make whatever income based on my stamina, dedication, and my willingness to help others. However you want to define the American dream, there is not much of it that’s left anymore.

Wherever you choose to look— at the economy and jobs, the public schools, the budget deficits, the nonstop warfare overseas— you’ll see a country in sad shape.

Standards of living are declining, and American parents increasingly believe that their children will inherit a very bad deal.

We’re in denial about the extent of the rot in the system, and the effort that would be required to turn things around. It will likely take many years, perhaps a decade or more, to get employment back to a level at which one could fairly say the economy is thriving.

…The human suffering in the years required to recover from the recession will continue to be immense. And that suffering will only be made worse if the nation embarks on a misguided crash program of deficit reduction that in the short term will undermine any recovery, and in the long term will make true deficit reduction that much harder to achieve.

The wreckage from the recession and the nation’s mindlessly destructive policies in the years leading up to the recession is all around us. We still don’t have the money to pay for the wars that we insist on fighting year after year. We have neither the will nor the common sense to either raise taxes to pay for the wars, or stop fighting them…

America will never get its act together until we recognize how much trouble we’re really in, and how much effort and shared sacrifice is needed to stop the decline. Only then will we be able to begin resuscitating the dream.

The Four Greatest Fears of Starting Your Own Business

If you are considering starting your own business, or you want to, but have always been apprehensive, open your own mind to Network Marketing.

Think Network Marketing is too good to be true? I challenge you: Find the catch!

If you’ve never pursued a Network Marketing venture, it must be for one of two reasons: You just didn’t know about it, or you have a prejudice against it.

And that’s exactly what it is, a prejudice. You have prejudged this business based on what someone else has told you about it (usually someone who has failed at it or who has also never been involved themselves).

In other words, you’ve chosen to adopt someone else’s opinion of this business. Don’t let other people do your thinking for you. Make your own decision based on your own evaluation.

Check this business out. Really, do your due diligence. And when you are done, I would defy anyone, even the most devout skeptic, to not experience a significant, positive paradigm shift.

With six billion people on this planet, taking even one third of that number as being of the employable age, there’s absolutely no way that any industry out there—mining, manufacturing, what have you—can fulfill two billion jobs.

As we get more technologically advanced, we’re also moving away from a labor economy. The era of manufacturing began at the turn of the twentieth century and prevailed for over 100 years. But today there are massive companies like Microsoft and Apple that are not driven by labor.

There is no way traditional businesses can breach this gap. As more and more people become educated and employable, there are fewer and fewer jobs. In another ten years, we’re going to have at least four billion people looking for employment. And there is absolutely nothing out there that can fill the gap—except network marketing.

We are the only logical solution: allowing people to work out of their homes, and be mothers and fathers and whatever they need to be—and at the same time create a profession out of delivering goods and services across the planet.

In the developed nations, you have this growing part of the population who really do not want to “work.” They want to be fascinated and turned on by what they do. And in order for that to happen, the job has to be flexible enough. Nothing else fits the bill as we do.

In the developing nations, you have graduates coming out of college with no jobs. You have people who think that the only solution lies in getting onto a boat and floating across the Mediterranean to Europe or getting across the fence into the United States.

Again, we are the solution. The great economies of China and India are turning fast. Farmers do not have children who want to be farmers anymore.

Network marketing is the most logical bridge across this abyss we are facing right now.

…Network marketing embodies that entrepreneurial spirit. And it not only takes entrepreneurship to a practical level of existence, it also develops leadership. You cannot succeed in this business without learning to be a leader.

That’s what I believe. That’s why I have chosen to dedicate my life to this. I am doing this because I cannot think of doing anything else.

John Fogg, just finished (in less than an hour) reading Randy Gage’s new book, Making the First Circle Work: It’s a book FOR Network Marketers— a “How To” and a “Who To” of what it takes to be and do success in this business from an MLM rock star who’s made millions. More importantly, Randy has “arguably trained more millionaires [in this business] than anyone else.” John said, “This may be the best book about Network Marketing I’ve read.” Considering he wrote the million-selling book, The Greatest Networker in the World That’s saying something.

The First Circle refers to the classic flip chart presentation of the MLM opportunity where Network Marketers draw a circle, then on the line below that more circles, and below that even more circles, and so on to illustrate how a Multi-Level organization grows and is built. The First Circle on the chart is YOU. That’s what Randy’s book is about— what you have to do and who you have to be to create duplicatable success in this business.

The last chapter of the book is “Leading the Tribe. Being the Example.” In that chapter, Randy closes the book with a post he made on his Network Marketing Times Blog back in February of this year, titled “Don’t You Dare Give Up!” John thought it would give many of you a useful & valuable & behind-the-scenes look into what Network Marketing is really all about. Don’t You Dare Give Up!

It’s 5 am and I should be sleeping. But I’ve been tossing and turning for over an hour thinking about what I wanted to say to you. It’s about the work you do and the dreams you want to live…

In our business we can earn a lot of money, win those trips to exotic locales, and drive those gorgeous bonus cars. We have the chance to really get our freedom.

But that’s the thing about freedom. It’s never free…

Freedom is the by product of success and you must be willing to pay the price for success. And success never goes on sale. You have to pay the market price. And that can be so very hard…

I know. I struggled for five years in this business. Sacrificed things to buy my monthly product order. Alienated everyone around me, pestering them to join my business. Argument after argument.

Because I could explain all the rational, logical reasons everyone should be in the business. And if you wanted to argue with me, I could explain all the reasons you were being an idiot.

For some reason that approach didn’t work very well. So I switched to strategy number two…

Begging.

But that approach didn’t work much better. So for five years I went to presentation after presentation, bought tape after tape, attended meeting after meeting. I talked about traveling the beaches of the world, while I parked my broken down junk heap in the back, so no one would see what I was driving.

I remember the first house meeting I did. Invited about 14 or 15 people and waited, brimming over with excitement. Of course you know what happened…

No one. Not one.

Common sense tells you I should have quit. But dreams never come true with common sense. Dreams come true because they are bold, daring, and imaginative. Because they are strong enough to pull you toward them.

I could have quit, should have quit, would have quit. But I came to a realization that changed everything for me:

I realized I was the most ambitious person I knew.

And there was freedom in that line of thinking. Which eventually led to the real freedom.

I wish I could say after five years I magically flipped a switch and became rich, but that isn’t true. But things started to change…

I began to understand the importance of a system and how duplication worked. Began daily self-development, becoming less of the person people didn’t want to work with and more of the person they did. Learned some skill sets.

And today I have those exotic cars, live in my dream homes, contribute to charities in a meaningful way, earn millions of dollars and have my freedom. And while I appreciate the money, toys and trips, it’s about a lot more than that.

Which is why I’m writing you…

I have been where most of you are, and made it to the level most are even afraid to dream of. So let me share what I have learned along the way, but most importantly, what I want for you. Here are the four things I want for you:

1) Live a Life of Adventure.

Stop watching actors live adventure in movies and TV shows. It’s time for you to live your own adventure.

I have flown the Concord, prayed in the Crystal Cathedral, fallen in love in Paris, taken a shower on the A380 airplane, flown in a hot air balloon, watched whales playing in Hawaii, meditated in a Shaolin Temple, piloted an airplane, rode an elephant through the rainforest in Thailand, visited all the world’s greatest opera houses, watched a ballgame in Wrigley Field, rode horses through the mountains, and heard the call to worship at mosques in Istanbul. And I’m just getting started…

Is your adventure started yet? Life is not about fighting rush hour traffic, working in a cubicle, or sending your kids to daycare. Life is for living. And that means you.

2) Get Your Freedom.

See number one. You are not meant to be woken up with an alarm clock. You are supposed to wake up when you finish sleeping. When you wake up, you should be the one to choose how you are going to spend your day, and whom you are going to spend it with. You’re supposed to order from the left side of the menu, not the right side.

Freedom is about having choices. Whether it’s choosing what car to drive, home to live in, or exotic locale you want to vacation in.

It’s about choosing the causes to support, the school you want your kids to go to, and the people you want in your life. Choosing to live out loud, in color, with passion.

3) Right Injustice.

How often have you seen a situation that wasn’t right and felt powerless to stop it? How many times have you wanted to right a wrong, but didn’t have the time or money or freedom to do it?

I’ve been able to right many an injustice. But I couldn’t do that much when I was trapped and broke. I can now because I am free.

Want to do a mission in the Philippines, help the starving kids in Africa, or the earthquake victims in Haiti? Do what you can now, but to really make a meaningful difference, you probably need time, money and freedom. Which leads us to…

4) Move from Success to Significance

I’m a former minimum wage dishwasher who became a multi-millionaire. I am truly blessed. And yes I appreciate the cars, homes and money this business has brought me. That satisfies you for a while. But then you want more…

You want to make a difference. Leave a legacy. Build something that outlives you.

That’s when life really begins. That’s when you know the world is a better place because you are in it. And when be a better place even after you’re gone.

Whether it’s supporting the arts, building an orphanage, or saving the rainforest. Maybe it’s sponsoring a Little League team, mentoring a young person, or starting a shelter for battered women. Or all of the above.

I don’t know what is in your heart to do, but I know there is something. And that’s what I challenge you to do. Yes I wish freedom, lifestyle and all the goodies for you. And I also wish you love, meaning and leading a life of significance.

It won’t be easy; I get that. It means sacrifice.

Because it means at 7 pm, when your spouse is home and your kids want to play, you’re leaving to go to a meeting. It means you’ll miss a chance to worship some weekends when you’re working with a long distance line somewhere. It means making those calls to candidates long after the excitement and motivation of the big event has worn off.

But I had a mantra that got me free. And it can get you free. Here it is:

“I will do today what others will not do, so tomorrow I can do what others cannot do.”

Will you do that for me? Will you do that for yourself? Will you do that for all the people you’re going to be able to help?

The pain of discipline is far easier than the pain of regret. When you feel fear, you must profess faith. Because faith is deaf, dumb and blind.

Faith is deaf to rejection, dumb to failure, and blind to the possibility of defeat. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. It is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.

We can’t see them, but we have a vision for them. That is why we do self-development every morning, speak those affirmations, put up those pictures on the refrigerator.

Doing what we do is not easy. It’s not supposed to be. But it is simple. And important. Not just for your freedom and your dreams, but the freedom and dreams of everyone you will make a difference for. Most people today doubt their beliefs and believe their doubts. You have to be different.

Please. Don’t you dare take down your dream board or those pictures on your refrigerator. Don’t you dare let your spouse or kids see you quit. Don’t you dare give up on your dreams!

That’s what I want to tell you this morning.
