The wealth-building attributes of Network Marketing – Richard Brooke
What follows is a piece John Fogg couldn’t include in his upcoming (July 2011) book, The Greatest Networkers in the World — 21 ordinary people who became millionaires in Network Marketing and the true stories of how they did it. The because is there just aren’t enough pages to include all the good & great stuff John got from his interviews with The Greatest Networkers.
This one is Richard Brooke speaking about the “wealth-building attributes of Network Marketing.” It’s included in the Audio Interviews (the clip is available to listen to, below) and the transcripts. It’s brilliant and a classic.

There just isn’t any other economic business vehicle where a person can get started for a few hundred or a thousand dollars, on a part-time basis and three or four years later, have a net worth— because of their residual income— in the millions.
Somebody goes to work on a part-time basis. Three or four years later, they’ve got a residual income of let’s just say $5,000 or $10,000. It’s residual, because of the way they built it and the company they built it in.
Residual meaning, if they chose to, or something happened in their life and they had to quit managing and driving the group, would their income at least stay the same?
Now in many organizations, many companies, it should grow. Why? Because at the lowest level in the geometric progressions, they haven’t built anything yet.
So if they start building out their next level, the organization just grew by three or four or five times. It should grow geometrically, but if just stayed flat, you would have residual income.
Five thousand dollars a month in residual income provides you with a net worth at today’s interest rates of $3-$4 million.
Under a normal interest rate scenario, at least $1 million. Ten thousand dollars a month, $2 million.
How do you equate that?
Well, how much rental real estate would you have to own, free and clear, no mortgages, to have rents net to you after management maintenance of $10,000 a month? You’d need at least $2 million worth of rental property if not $3 million or $4 million.
Or how much money would you need in equities, cash, bonds, dividend-paying stocks to get a five percent annual return? You’d need $2 million to get $10,000 a month.
Think about in the lifetime of people saving and investing and the risk in real estate and equities, the risk of investing in a company that one day “Forbes Magazine” and the President of the United States and “USA Today” and “Wall Street Journal” says is the next phenomenon in business.
Six months later they’re bankrupt, their stocks are not worth anything and people are going to jail. Think about the risks of investing in equities and real estate and how long it would take somebody to amass a fortune of $2 million.
For most people it would take a lifetime of discipline, sacrifice and very good timing and very good fortune.
You can do the same thing in four or five years in the right Network Marketing company with the right product, building it the right way.
Huge relationships with people, servant leadership, building an organization that at some point they don’t look to you anymore. They’re looking to themselves and they’re looking to their group. They may want you and appreciate you but they don’t need your leadership anymore.
When you’ve built that, you’ve built a net worth in the millions of dollars. There’s just no other way to do it in our society and our business model and our economy. It is light years more efficient and faster and more accessible to the masses than real estate or equities.
I just love the wealth-building attributes of Network Marketing.

Finding a Job – Finding a Life
Six unemployed residents of St. Louis have vastly different backgrounds. But they all share one goal:
Finding a job.
In St. Louis, the labor market and unemployment rate are very similar to the rest of the nation. NPR begins a year-long journey, following these residents in their quest for work.
Nationwide, there are more than 14 million people out of work, and most economists say it will be years before the country returns to full employment. In terms of the labor market and the unemployment rate, St. Louis, Mo., is very similar to rest of the nation.
To read the full story by Tamara Keith that aired on NPR’s All Things Considered, Monday, January 17, click this link: Finding The Path Toward Employment In St. Louis. A complete transcript is also available on the site.

“As I listened to this broadcast on NPR coming home with my daughter Ele from her Kung Fu class, I felt sick. My heart goes out to these people and the 13,999,994 other men & women out of work in America. I kept asking the car radio (I know, very silly) ‘Do they know about Network Marketing? These are good people. Smart people. Hard working people. They deserve a chance. Please… how can I let them know about the possibility to get their lives back with Network Marketing?”
— John Milton Fogg
If you’re a Network Marketer, you don’t have to tell these people and the millions of unemployed others like them about Network Marketing, but you’d sure make a huge difference in their lives if you did.
There’s never been a more important time buy cheap Moisturizing Baby Soap online for people to learn the truth about MLM Netwotk Marketing.

The NEW American Dream Team
Is Network Marketing The NEW American Dream?
This post was written by John Fogg.
Seth Godin is one of my heroes. In so many, many, instances, Seth’s writing cuts through the morass & misunderstanding of the world we live & work in with a uncanny precision & vision that makes things crystal clear. Especially “things” such as what can be done to change what’s not working for the better, perhaps forever.
In his latest book, Linchpin. Are You Indispensable? Mr. Godin makes a case for what’s not working in the world of work and why. Like this:
The system we grew up with is a mess. It’s falling apart at the seams and a lot of people I care about are in pain because the things we thought would work don’t. Everyday I meet people who have so much to give but have been bullied enough or frightened enough to hold it back. They have become victims, pawns in a senseless system that uses them up and undervalues them.
It’s time to stop complying with the system and draw your own map.
Stop settling for what’s good enough… Stop asking what’s in it for you and start giving gifts that change people. Then, and only then, will you have achieved your potential.
For hundreds of years, the population has been seduced, scammed, and brainwashed into fitting in, following instructions, and exchanging a day’s work for a day’s pay. That era has come to an end and just in time.
Seth goes on to say that we have an opportunity today to change our lives for the better. He is NOT making a case for MLM Network Marketing. From my conversations with Seth I believe (unless he’s changed his “worldview”) he has not held our profession in the highest esteem. I don’t think he fully understands us, because without intending to, I believe he IS making a case for Network Marketing as one of the options to choose from.
Linchipn continues…
The Take-Care-of-You-Bargain
Here’s the deal our parents signed us up for:
Our world is filled with factories. Factories that make widgets and insurance and Web sites, factories that make movies and take care of sick people and answer the telephone. These factories need workers.
If you learn how to be one of these workers, if you pay attention in school, follow instructions, show up on time, and try hard, we will take care of you. You won’t have to be brilliant or creative or take big risks.
We will pay you a lot of money, give you health insurance, and offer you job security. We will cherish you, or at the very least, take care of you.
It’s a pretty seductive bargain.
So seductive that for a century, we embraced it. We set up our schools and our systems and our government to support the bargain.
It worked. The Fortune 500 took care of us. The teachers’ union took care of us. The post office and the local retailer took care of us. We followed the instructions, we washed the bottles, we showed up on time, and in return, we got what we needed. It was the American Dream. For a long time it worked.
But in the face of competition and technology, the bargain has fallen apart.
Job growth is flat at best.
Wages in many industries are in a negative cycle.
The middle class is under siege like never before, and the future appears dismal. People are no longer being taken care of— pensions are gone; 401(k)s have been sliced in half; and it’s hard to see where to go from here. You might be the hard working secretary, the one with the institutional knowledge, the person who has given so much and deserves security and respect. And while you might deserve these things, your tenure is no guarantee that you’re going to get them.
Suddenly, quite suddenly in the scheme of things, it seems like the obedient worker bought into a sucker’s deal. The educated, hardworking masses are still doing what they’re told, but they are no longer getting what they deserve.
This situation presents a wonderful opportunity.
Yes, it’s an opportunity. An opportunity to actually enjoy what you do, to make a difference to your colleagues and your customers, and to unlock the genius you’ve been hiding all these years.
It’s futile to work hard at restoring the take-care-of-you bargain. The bargain is gone, and it’s not worth whining about and it’s not effective to complain. There’s a new bargain now…
Again, to be clear, Seth Godin DOES NOT directly endorse MLM Network Marketing. That said, there’s a lot we ARE by design & on purpose that’s right up his alley.
What Seth presents is a picture of the “American Dream” that is past tense. “The bargain,” and the systems and structures and people and ideas that have supported it, “has fallen apart.”
Three years ago I put together a book titled, It’s Time… For Network Marketing*. It was, alas, at least as indicated by its lack of acceptance & sales success, ahead of it’s time. Perhaps no longer.
It is clearly time for a NEW American Dream.
And although not for everybody, for millions of people “…who have so much to give but have been bullied enough or frightened enough to hold it back.” Who, “have become victims, pawns in a senseless system that uses them up and undervalues them.”
The NEW American Dream can be found in Network Marketing.

Why It’s Time… For Network Marketing
… the most remarkable form of free enterprise to get the respect and recognition it deserves. It’s Time… network marketing went beyond being accepted. It’s Time… network marketing became truly admired.

There’s a whole new way of doing business happening all around the world. Literally, a transformation is taking place in the way people buy and sell everything. At the same time, there’s a radical transition in what people are willing and able to do to earn a living today. You see it everywhere. You can feel it…everywhere. Everything’s changing fast.
Blame the Internet most of all.
Thank the Internet most of all.
Network marketing is leading this transformation. The “others” will have to follow or get out of our way.
Network marketing is all about doing things differently.
“Business as unusual” is what we’re all about.
We are “business for the rest of us” and the number of “us” is growing by more than 70,000 new people around the world every day!
It’s Time… will once-and-for-all set the record straight about what makes this business of ours so different… and so remarkable.
It’s Time… will show why more and more people are noticing what a brilliant business model this is (and this book will have even more people than ever sit up and take notice).
It’s Time… will silence the critics who call our industry a farce and give voice to the real people who know the truth: network marketing is a force. It’s life-changing, and it’s unstoppable.
It’s Time… network marketing went beyond accepted.
It’s Time… network marketing became truly admired.
Network marketing is the leading edge of free enterprise…. (Not just “on” the leading edge.” It IS the leading edge.)
And the world doesn’t know it—yet.
Network marketing is the most powerful and persuasive way to introduce consumers to new products and services they don’t know exist.
And the world doesn’t know it—yet.
Network marketing turbocharges person-to-person (P2P), word-of-mouth recommendations by brilliantly adding an incentive/reward compensation program.
And the world doesn’t know it—yet.
Network marketing is the business model where relationships rule.
It’s…
• the only real, level, commercial playing field open to anybody regardless of age, sex, race, education, or past success…
• the best way for ordinary people to achieve extraordinary income…
• the only business structure designed to build successful organizations through cooperation, not company politics and competition…
• the proven, affordable “People’s Franchise”…
• the only business system that encourages you to creatively “do it the best way for you” and succeed…
• the best choice today for the growing number of “terminally unemployable” entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs…
• the authentic, intelligent, credible, moral business design that pays you what you are truly worth…
• the business model that provides both time and financial freedom…
• the business that lets everyone in on the “secret” of leveraged, residual income…
• the business that lets everyone in on the “secret” of loverage, of contribution, of making a difference for a living…
• the business that has changed millions of people’s lives for the better forever…
Successful network marketers know all of that. And now…
It’s Time… everybody knew it!
Thanks.
I appreciate you!
